Job 14:14-17 - Job’s belief of resurrection

I find these verses interesting - I initially read the phrase about God covering over Job’s iniquities in verse 17 as a preview of what Jesus did. My Bible comentary seems to believe that Job thought sin would be hidden because Job was dead. I like to think it at least somewhat points forward to Jesus. And, it shows very early discussion of the resurrection concept.

That is interesting. Sometimes when you read this stuff since you already know about it, you forget that it might have been new to the people at the time. Mine mentions that while Job didn't understand the concept of resurrection fully, he believed God was powerful enough to hide him in the grave until his anger abated, and then raise him up again.

At the end of Job in my Bible, it states this, which is interesting because I felt myself pondering the connections the entire time I was reading.
